
Training and Development
Training is continuous from the first day with the company. GHF recognizes that newcomers want to learn and to develop skills from the first day. We provide a one week course which covers the industry, the exchanges, major participants and some general principals about this career. Within a few days trainees will be working on the simulator learning the basics. Within two weeks, trainees get an opportunity to experience the real markets. At this point support and training is one to one and is provided by management and by other experienced traders.
We also have external experts providing in depth training and product knowledge either in person or over the internet. Often those handling a particular market are assembled to meet and work together in one location for two or three weeks exchanging ideas and building knowledge. These sessions are not all work and often end up in a bar or restaurant. Increasingly, knowledge and contacts are exchanged over the internet. This is an international business and it is important to develop contacts around the markets.
